It would truly be a great delight to have you join me for this Tour of Israel - click here for itinerary and pricing. I have been going to Israel for 35 years and it gives me such joy to introduce you to this holy place, to my many delightful Israeli and Palestinian friends, to share with your my adventures in excavating Galilee, and to insure your trip is at once exciting and interesting but also safe and free from anxiety. I know many who might want to travel to Israel are concerned about safety. The events in Israel get much attention from the media, and often create an unrealistic sense of danger. One way to reflect upon travel to Israel is in terms of the way travel is managed anywhere one goes. For example, there have been more homicides in Chicago this year than in the last three years in Israel. Given the number of homicides in Chicago one could decide never to visit there or one could plan ones trip there to avoid the most dangerous areas. So also in Israel, my many years of travel to and living in Israel along with my large network of friends that live in Israel and the West Bank make it possible for me to plan a trip that you can embark upon without undue concern for your safety. Moreover, try to think of the last time you heard of a tourist being hurt while traveling in Israel. It is very rare and that is because the government of Israel is extremely vigilant in protecting its visitors. I am confident you can take advantage of this great opportunity to come to Israel with me and your fellow Centre alumni without fear for your safety.
